Where LED Video Walls are used
Pixel pitch, in plain terms
Pixel pitch is the distance between the centres of two adjacent LEDs, measured in millimetres. A P2 panel has its LEDs two millimetres apart; a P10 panel has them ten millimetres apart. The smaller the pitch, the more LEDs sit in the same square metre, and the finer the image. That is the whole of it. Pitch is not a grade of quality, and a lower number is not automatically the better buy for your site.
Matching pitch to viewing distance
Every LED display has a distance below which the eye begins to resolve individual LEDs and the image breaks into dots. Bring viewers closer than that and a wall which looked right on paper looks coarse in the room. Stand far enough back and a coarser pitch reads as cleanly as a fine one, and the extra density buys you nothing. So the first question on a site visit is not how big a wall you want.
